Above is a link to my Linkedin account.  Linkedin is one of the most popular social networking sites for professionals; employers & job seekers alike.  Members use Linkedin to find jobs & business opportunities.  Employers can list job opportunities & search for potential employees.  It’s a great site to network & make connections.

Twitter/Forums

Catching up on homework I forgot to do… ;>>

Twitter: Zelsephyr
Suggested that you follow me if you want to know how crazy I am at the moment.

Forums:
I’ve been a member of an online Anime themed forum called Gaia Online for a little over 4 years now. It’s a diverse community of people with many sub forums. To be honest, you don’t even need to like anime to be a regular user of this site. Many of the forums are dedicated to sports, music, gaming, television shows, etc. The website utilizes customized avatars rather than display pictures to represent you, similar to playing an online game. The average user on this site ranges in age from 13-25.

Joining a Forum- March 24

I decided to join the forum known as

diabetesdaily.com because it will allow me to ask

questions about diabetes and hopefully get some

answers. My husband was recently diagnosed

with type 2 diabetes and I want to learn more

about it. Perhaps I can find diabetic recipes and

tips on eating healthier. I think this forum will

be very helpful.

Web 1.0 vs Web 2.0

Web 1.0
alleghenypower.com
This site basically gives you information outward, no information can be added to the site. My Dad works for Allegheny Power so this site is used often by myself and my family to check call out listings, when my Dad is sent across the state to help with power outages.

tylerconsolidated.com
This is my highschool’s website. No information from an outside source can be added, which in turn makes it web 1.0. When i was in highschool i was actually on here quite a lot to find sporting event times and see pictures.

Web 2.0
myspace.com
I feel like myspace is the baby facebook. Its web 2.0 because you put in your own information thats no posted on the site. I still have a myspace, but hardly use it nowadays, thank to facebook

yahoo.com
Ok its not yahoo itself, but its yahoo answers, i just wasnt sure what to put for a title, but yahoo answers let a user ask, answer, and make group questions for others to either ask or answer. letting outside users add information of course makes this site web 2.0
